The Magens Bay Authority Board of Directors announced Friday that it has approved an adjustment in the entry fees for non-resident visitors to Magens Bay Beach and Smith Bay Park. The new fee structure will take effect starting Sunday, October 1, 2023.

According to MemorieAnne Brown-Callender, the interim general manager of Magens Bay Authority, the updated entrance fee for non-residents over the age of 12 will be set at $7 per person. The move comes as part of the authority’s sustained efforts to maintain and enhance the globally recognized park facilities, Magens Bay said.

The authority said the fee adjustment aims to support its mission to preserve, improve, and safeguard the natural beauty and conditions of both Magens Bay Beach and Smith Bay Park. The additional revenue generated from the increased fees will be allocated towards the care, service enhancements, and safety provisions that are essential for the day-to-day operations of these popular tourist destinations.

Magens Bay emphasized its commitment to benefiting the community, preserving the environment, and ensuring an excellent visitor experience.

In the announcement, the authority extended its heartfelt thanks to both residents and non-residents for their unwavering support, stating that their dedication to the welfare and preservation of the parks remains steadfast.
